Kan Brown was born in 1993 on the 21st of October in rural Georgia and Chattanooga, Tennessee.
He grew up with a single mother and his childhood wasn’t a walk in the park. His family moved frequently from one town to another, and sometimes he was left homeless. Eventually, Kane settled in Red Bank, Tennessee.
Brown found his solace in music and started his journey by singing in the church choir. On the other hand, his uncle taught him to play the guitar and even gave him his first guitar when Brown was 14 years old.
Since then, Brown started writing his songs and posting covers on social media. In 2014, he auditioned for “American Idol,” but he was cut during the Hollywood round.
He didn’t give up then and continued performing on social media, this time with the attention of record labels.
In 2015, he released his first EP with the title “Closer.” When RCA Nashville noticed the EP, they signed him to a recording contract in early 2016.
The Importance of Siblings

Heidi Swafford
Heidi is Kane’s older sister from the paternal side. We don’t know much about her as she remains largely out of the public eye.
However, she appeared on the news when she got in a fight with a girl —said to be her friend— in 2016 when she was only 19. The fight was so aggressive it left Heidi with injuries and the police arrested the other girl.
CJ Cordell
CJ has always been a supportive presence in Kane’s life. He even appeared in some of Kane’s music videos and would often accompany him on tour.
He’s his half-brother from the maternal side. Despite not sharing the same father, they shared a strong bond. This is also even though Kane’s stepfather wasn’t the kindest to him.
